While studying with Ed Owens at his home in Cape Charles, Virginia - We had been returning from town in Ed's auto. Before Ed stopped his car to make a hard right turn into his driveway - we looked either way for several blocks on the street for other traffic. The street was empty of all cars. When Ed was only halfway through his turn into his driveway - a ¾ ton pickup truck simply "appeared" about 10-15 feet from Ed's auto travelling at a speed of 35-45 miles per hour on a collision course. The driver made no apparent effort to avoid an impact. The ¾ ton truck stopped about 4-6 inches from Ed's door - with its drivers head jammed up against the cab roof of the truck. There was no sound of screeching brakes ??? Something "stopped" the truck other than its driver. The ¾ ton truck simply drove away after Ed moved into his driveway.
